First by my 堂哥 Jeremy (right side couple)….

Followed by 堂姐 Mary… which leaves me to be the only ONE in my generation to be single left… which will not be long.. heehee * and also gave me a chance to have a look at my nephews…

Wah kao.. damn uncle now.. my face looks like “Hum Jin Bang” now…

Just had my convocation with UNISIM today.. was a really…. tiring event. Anyway, glad that its over… at least a burden off me…

My Degree programme is the last of the convocation, so practically wanted to fall asleep till it was my turn… Only 8 graduates from my course this semester by the way…

Some pics with my family since my sister is back in singapore.

Had Chinese New Year Reunion dinner at home as usual. It’s probably one of the meals that I always look forward to…

We also had Chinese New Year Dinner with Mom’s family …

Went to have great dim-sum during lunch in town with my folks & sister + jack…

Sharksfin Dumpling ! Woohoo! We were at Shaw House, in a dimsum restaurant that served great dimsum… Haha.. Sorry ah.. backdated posts usually can’t remember the things that happen..Anyway, tried seeing how I actually look like with a camera.


Great… Now I know how much better I look like with my features blocked by the camera…

It seems like a better weekend this week.. my mother was hospitalised in NUH last week due to some dumb diagnosis by the noobie doctors there, scaring everybody in the family and making my mother even more sick than usual.. (imagine being held on a drip, having to fast for almost 3 days, and taking nonsensical medicine that makes people drowsy!) So I consider it a lousy weekend, except the fact that I pretty much enjoyed the BBQ with the guys for christmas..

Nevertheless, my sister would soon be flying back to Shanghai with my brother-in-law after the turn of the year, ending her vacation.. although she’ll be back somewhere next month for an in-laws wedding, she won’t be back during the Lunar New Year. That also leads to my parents plotting to hide from meeting relatives and giving Ang Pows and spend it with sister. So where does that leave me ?

Anyway, my sister & Bro-in-law made the offer of treating dinner to us , in Shanghai style, so we made a trip down to a Yan Ching Si Fang Cai, which I assume is translated to Yan Ching Dishes, or if I translate it chinaman style, would be Yan Ching Private Room Vegetables.

Nice Tidbits. Love the pickles with Tofu and Tofu skin. The Seaweed peanuts were great too !

This dish was a fave ! Tofu with century egg and Egg Yolk ! Yummy !

Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing with great form, not scoring the most fantastic of goals, but just banging them from anywhere.. and he’s not even a striker… compared to the grizzly bear, Wayne Rooney…who seems to “shoot bird” recently.

What’s the similarity between Rooney & a bull ? They both see red.

Now that the diff in the premier league is 6 points, lets hope that United can carry on this form till May !

Some New Year Resolution’s for 2007…

1. I will learn how to sleep early.
2. I will cut down on Tao Kae Noi Seaweed. (They cost more than cigarettes!)
3. I will get a downgrade to miss IPPT
4. I will do better in my photography
5. I will not model a Marlboro Reds box for my next 3D Max Project
6. I will not lose my mobile phone.
7. I will consistently buy toto every monday and thursday at quickpick $2 ONLY

Al Dente Trattoria @ Holland V

Made a few rounds in Holland V for lunch, the idea was to try something different, we’ve been eating asian food, from japanese to indonesian, and also American meals, so we were deciding between mexican, middle-east & italian, before we finally settle down in this restaurant.. And it was a pleasant surpise.

The place on its own was pretty cosy followed by blue tinted lights. I pretty much liked the environment. Well, at least it beats the environment of buffet restaurants !

Smoke Salmon Carpaccio( Pardon me if spell wrongly)

This is a really good appetiser, although it wasn’t our initial choice, we wanted green mussels, but they were out of stock at the moment. (I heard it was a popular favourite, but I suspect they don’t have it cause its weekday lunch hour) The smoke salmon was plentiful mixed with vinegar, lime & onions. Add a bit of pepper in, and voila.. full of zest.

Flower Crab Bisque

Next up was the soup, which is also my favourite of all the sets, the flower crab bisque, the soup is so full of crab taste that you can just drool smelling it. The aftertaste of the soup.. mmmm… lingers in the tongue for quite sometime.. real nice the soup is nice and thick, whats more, the crab meat is plentiful, just like how you shell it from the claw.. (not those cheap crabmeat type) tastes real good, I say it tastes similar to lobster bisque, only more full of taste.

Lobster Spaghetti (Sorry I can’t remember the actual name)

This was my main course, but its all share share between me and Lydia, very nice spaghetti mixed with lobster meat, mushrooms and zucinni(also known as italian squash). Whats more, topped unto it is a creamy white wine garlic stew to give the full italian taste… Yummy.. It’s really nice but I don’t recommend completing the whole course.. (best to share share.. ) Cause although it is tasty, most italian food very gelat. But best eaten in small portion. Quantity quite big somemore. (not like those cheap pasta, some other places are offering) The lobster meat is also plentiful! Cool !

Triple Cheese Pizza. (Can’t remember the name also)

I always remember this pizza I had in Bintan, so we ordered it once more. There is no salami, pepperoni or any meat.. It’s just practically made of 3 different cheeses.. oolala.. I’m a cheese lover by the way.. cheese is springy and full of taste, crust is cooked to perfection as well, but similarly to pizza, should be eaten in small portions, as cheese also very gelat. (Wonder how those italians eat so much pasta everyday !)

This is dad’s favourite restaurant, and its obviously not my first time there.. So I didn’t really want to take much photos.. dishes were simple very family style.. But at the end.. It was the crab that matters !!!!

White Pepper Crab

Nice nice White Pepper Crab ! Olala ! Tastes so much better than the black pepper counterparts.. (well it’s a signature dish there) But right now.. I’m still dreaming of my flower crabs ever since having the flower crab bisque during noon.. sedap !Anyway, Thanks to the 40 odd people who wish me happy birthday today thru msn, phone and every possible way of communication. Well, its been simple this year.. but I like it this way! All the best for everybody else ! Happy Holidays !
