We reached Bintan at about 10 am SGP Time, and commenced right to Mana Mana Beach Resort. After checking in, we were brought straight to our resort by a lady that expected a tip. So boh bian had to tip her $2. =p

unfortunately Lydia’s debut in sunglasses were shortly lived, when a screw off the lense came off.

So we went for Paser Oleh Oleh for some shopping and lunch. It was suppose to be an hours stop, but for us.. well… we stayed there for almost 6 hours !

We went shopping at almost every shophouse, but the things there really nice mah !

We had our lunch there at the Oleh Oleh Restaurant, price was very singaporean, but quality is not bad !

After that, Lydia went to get her hair tided, at $15 , which I really think looks kinda cute !

Well in all took almost 5 hours, her hair tiding already an hour an a half… Proceeded back to Mana Mana, to have a short rest, and to put down our new acquisitions. On the way back to our resort, we met up with Mr. Lizzie…

Mr Lizzie felt very disturbed.

Went back in the room to get into beach attire, but just as we left the room, seems like too dark for beach activities… So.. boh bian.. Plan B, CAM WHORING !

After my refreshing nap, Proceeded for tanning at the beach. In which Lydia refuse to meet the hot sun.

Went on to Mana Mana Water Sports Club.

And thereafter proceeding back to the resort and ready to check out.

However, the best was at the end, when we went for shopping at Factory Outlet ! So damn bloody cheap ! And Branded items somemore.. had only 1/2 hour before rushing back Singapore.

Going to leave for Bintan in an hours time. Just finished with my TMA project session. Was doing some management module. Quite unmotivated to do this TMA though, seems like very sian…

Lancer decided that McNuggets would do better for black eye rings more than lemons ! And oh that was Leslie’s foot

Anyway, was with the kids at Singapore Tourism board. A proud win for them ! Got in 1st and 3rd for the Still Image competition. Out of 221 entries !

Have to settle for Mana Mana as Manya Sari is fully booked. But confirmed ! Bintan here I come.

Was looking at a group of students doing their Art & Craft Project. Their Art lessons involve Adobe Photoshop. Digital Art lessons they call it. And for Sec 1 classes ! Wah Lau ! During my time we were still struggling to draw peanuts !(I was in the Arts Stream in upper Sec anyway.) And the students are still complaining! Sometimes it scares me too. Cause at the rate the kids are being exposed to technology, the faster people of my profession are in danger. I mean who needs professionals when there are so many young talents ?

Anyway,I was in a cheeky mood today, so I tried doing the same project they are doing.. Well they were suppose to do a poster thingy with this duck.

And so I made the duck into my own design of the BEACH DUCK !

Need a break soon. Really tired.

Was sick yesterday and was on MC. Still feeling rather listless.. but no choice, work is work.

Back on sunday, my beloved Devils emerge victorious against Fulham. 5 Goals to 1, although Fulham is a weak team this season, and most of the goals were very tyco , but classy movement and co-ordination were what was lacking last season.

Although Rooney is still the typical English fat bloke, and Scholes the Albino, Ronaldo the young punk & Giggs the wolverine-wannabe, they still have lots to offer as one of the most attacking threats in the Premier League.

And fortunately, The new Utd Sponsors may look a bit obiang on their jerseys, but in overall, the new united red jersey looks so retro and vintage, real NICE !

Back to me & Lyds, planning for a trip to Bintan during this weekend.. Lets hope everything goes swee-swee this week so I can not be disturbed =p

Ah Beng went for an job interview for a sales job. When the manager saw Ah Beng’s colourful attire, his mind screamed, “Not this man!!”Nevertheless he still had to entertain Ah Beng. So he told Ah Beng, “If you can form a sentence using the words I give you, then I will give you a chance!”
“The words are “Green, Pink, Yellow, Blue, White, Purple, Black”.

Ah Beng thought for a while and said “I heard the phone go green, green, and then I went to pink up the phone and said Yellow. Blue’s that? White did you say? Aiyah, wrong number. Don’t purplely disturb people and don’t call Black, ok?”

Now that EPL is back on, and my beloved devils are donning their new jersey, I’m exhilarated ! Back are the days where you have to ‘chop’ your place at the nearby kopitiams and laughing at Darren Fletcher every time he loses the ball. Don’t get me wrong, I’m really a United fan, but Darren Fletcher is a class act, really wonder what Fergie thinks.. maybe cause they both wear kilts…

Anyway.. currently at home and feeling reaaaal hungry. Sort of missed Ju Ju Hokkaido Hotpot at Paradiz Center. Trust me, taste real good. But by the time I reach there from home now.. I think can start swatting mosquitoes. May have to settle for Liang Seah Street Steamboat instead. It’s open till 5 am !

Kaira Gong
The girl can sing ! Seen her in real person before and I was standing less than 3m facing her for about 15 minutes… she looks very …. normal. But well plus points for looking good in the parade, the first costume looks bad though.. but queen status ? nah…

NDP 2006
Caught the Parade on TV. First time in 8 years to ever watch a National Day Parade. Did it probably cause I wanted to see how the kids fare. Performance wise was pretty great, but as all NDP Parade segments, the Defense forces marching in and parade portion was just…… draggy…. And of course.. the kids were great ! Other than a couple of tired faces.. and a couple of un-sync movements during closeup.. guess they were splendid.

IPPT/RT Defaulter
Went back to CMPB yesterday for orders for missing RT. Stated my reason and proved to them that it was a system error. The Investigation Officer was at a loss of words. Obviously, it was so much of a mistake on their side. But as usual, SAF being SAF… trying to minimise unneccssary work… (well, its problematic taking off a charge from their system) Still carried on with the charge, but a reprimand. which hardly had one… but I was still pretty unhappy of getting a charge and wanted to challenge the charge, but before I can say anything the DO ranted on, ” Do you plead guilty ? If not, the case will be adjourned to Court Martial Center on a seperate session.” Well heck. Would be damn dumb to have to go for a seperate session, and having higher stakes, when I practically was not punished at all. Anyway, still think the military discipline system is full of crap, and should be done by an external organisation and not SAF themselves. Darn unfair to the soldiers.

Guo Mei Mei
Just saw a video on YouTube that day, just found out that Guo Mei Mei was actually discovered on a Singapore Variety Show by Quan Yifeng and Zhong Qin. This was long before they had the faceless album cover thingy. Pretty sweet young thing she used to be, although she had problems with her nerves. But caught another video of her in a taiwan concert or something like that.. she really needs some fattening ! But still, the song 不怕不怕 is still an irritating ring to my ears.

Mi Lu Bing
I never ever watched an episode of Singapore Superband, but sort of caught the name milu bing from one of the students. Watched a couple of their videos. Honestly speaking, their vocals on ballads are mediocre. But the rendition and creativity is really SHOW material especially their item 小微. Nevertheless, guess they deserve to win Superband competition. But surviving in the industry ? Maybe better than that Rat Face runner up of Singapore Idol and that 7-11 poster boy.

Audition SEA
Was pretty bored on saturday so caught myself trying on online game called Audition SEA, its a dancing game, that uses the keyboards much, something like PS’s Bust-A-Groove… Was pretty excited over the game for the first few hours, but.. that was really for the first few hours.. there’s no growth in the game… and that is enough to make me stay with the game.

Interesting piece of information I recieved in email…

There was a study done where a control group of 100 people were divided into two. - 50 people watched a very funny, tears-of laughter type movie. - 50 watched a very sad and tears of compassion type movie. At the end of the sessions researchers collected the “happy tears” and the “sad tears” with eye droppers. They found that “happy tears” are made up of brine…salt water and not a great deal else. However the “sad tears” were found to contain the very same chemicals and enzymes that are found in tumours, ulcers and other such lumps and bumps and sicknesses through out the body. This test concluded that the body, when crying in sadness etc is literally flushing out all of the toxic-chemicals that accumulate and are a part of the sadness /heart ache experience. Therefore if one holds back those tears, those toxic-waters will find somewhere else to deposit themselves…..and prolonged lack-of-crying-release will guarantee that the body will accumulate a huge amount of internal pollution and toxicity that should have been released through the tears……..is it any wonder that the eyes sting so much when we hold back our tears?”

Ta bo leh tahan. Had the kids running cricles on me during soccer today. Damn I hate the hot sun. Practically almost melted. After 10 minutes, felt like hell. The briyani I ate earlier on didn’t help either. My shoes broke down a 2nd time. Sigh * think really have to get a new pair… any sponsors ??

OH MY GAWD ! Now the 209 people found my blog also ! Hey.. Shoo shoo.. If you all start viewing my blog, how am I gonna complain to all my friends about how naughty you all kids are ! Looking at the tagboard worries me. Really worries me. Sigh *

Had a tiring day today. Now the kids know of this blog too. May have to tear this down anytime. Just look at the tagboard. Scary. Had CCA today again. Was a massive headache cause there are so many groups to handle. Played football with GZ and co. Leg is still hurting a bit, but moreorless 80% recovered. Played badly though, didn’t score a goal at all, which is crucial for me as I’m always upfront. Don’t know but feel pretty out of form. Maybe slightly phobia due to leg injury. Just came back from dinner with GZ. 1.40am ! Late dinner huh ? Was chatting abt certain things. He seems quite against the idea of me getting a flat. He does make sense though. Buying the flat is easy, but the renovation may kill me. Sigh * $, $, $. Always not enough. Want to settle down also need $ ! Government should come out a scheme to encourage couples to settle down so as to increase the lion city’s population. Anyway, have heard the National Day Song so many times, cause the kids are always playing it. Although it really irritates me, but.. its a nice song. I will not be involved in NDP actual day. Good and Bad. Good because means more time for Lydia, Bad because really want to see the kids perform cause they put in so much effort. To be frank, quite proud of the kids, as all of them are my students, and I feel for them, especially all the sweat and effort they have put in. Really gives a real warm feeling. But better not go on to much about this, cause I believe some of them will start to see this blog soon, and I don’t want to sound too emotional =-p

I can’t believe it, the 209 people actually took their cameras and started snapping at me. I don’t mind the snapping part. But at a time when my complexion is so horrible ! Or at least when I’m more prepared ! duh… Anyway, starting to feel sick again.
Had small chat with the Sec 4s, they were talking about me having my own fan club.. to be frank, what fan club ?? The kids were practically just needing my help with their work (Not my subject somemore!)! Yes, I may find my name in many of their blogs, but with practically 80% of the kids not bothering about my lesson, just shows one thing, I don’t have one. And anyway, I personally shun away from students, I don’t have those little gathering with the kids and planning activities and giving em pep talk. I just can’t be bothered. But my upperstudy is impressive. Left with a good reputation. Had kids doing farewell video and all.. now thats what I call fan club.

Was late for school today. Actually wasn’t that late, but was busy reading the blogging entries of the kids. Wah Lau ! Can’t believe they all say I’m lazy for not opening the lab for them! Guess they don’t understand that I don’t want to be a kaypoh being a jaga to them especially when it is not my subject. Just because I help them open the lab once or twice, makes me obliged to open for them always.. where can like that ?? And although all my lessons are in the lab doesn’t mean I’m the only person with authority in the lab mah ! Get the teacher in charge ! Not me !
I know most other teachers do not want to view their students blog pages, due to unneccessary criticism or horrible comments, but I do, I at least want to know, what affects them ! Every small action we do, that we don’t even feel, actually affects the students a lot. And I am trying to improve by knowing what is actually happening. Besides, I’m still in the learning process of teaching teenagers ! And boy are they tougher to teach than adults. Well.. at least I dun have to scream at adults !

After being pestered by the kids, and now that I won’t be seeing the secondary 2s anymore during lesson, decided to create my own blog site. Unfortunately, will not comment much more on my school and the things that is done there. In fact will try not to involve the school in this blog, don’t wanna get myself in unneccessary problems. Anyway, today also marks the start of my SIM semester… Starting my module on Graphics Design Principles, and unfortunately, today was on a recieving end of trigonometry and matrices lecture. Fell asleep after 10 mins of lesson, and than played Bejeweled 2 for the last 1/2 hour of the lecture. Than had our gathering with Les, Lance and ah Ken. Same thing makan and talking rot. One of the things I really miss. Unfortunately, I’m not in the same tutorial group as them for this module and therefore will need to start barking at SIM Admin office to change me.
